Medication Management at Quirkiatry
Collaborative. Personalized. Neurodiversity-affirming care you can trust.
Medication can be an incredibly helpful tool—but it should never be the only one. At Quirkiatry, we approach psychiatric medication management with thoughtfulness, collaboration, and deep respect for your lived experience. Whether you’re just exploring medication for the first time or already taking it and want more personalized support, we’re here to help you make informed, empowered choices.
What We Offer
Our medication management services are designed for autistic, ADHD, and OCD-identified teens and adults (ages 16+) seeking care that actually understands and affirms how their brain works. We work with you to:
Understand your symptoms and how they’re showing up in real life
Evaluate if medication might help support your goals
Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications when appropriate
Monitor side effects, effectiveness, and any needed adjustments
Coordinate with your therapist, coach, or other providers as needed
Respect your pace, preferences, and agency at every step
We don’t push meds. We also don’t ignore their potential. We just have honest, transparent conversations about how they fit into your life.
Conditions We Commonly Treat
We specialize in psychiatric care for neurodivergent individuals, especially those navigating:
ADHD (inattention, hyperactivity, executive dysfunction)
Autism-related challenges (overwhelm, sensory dysregulation, co-occurring anxiety or depression)
OCD (obsessive thoughts, compulsions, intrusive thinking)
Anxiety, depression, and burnout in the context of neurodivergence
Emotional regulation difficulties, mood swings, and sleep issues
What Makes Our Approach Different?
Neurodivergent-informed: We don’t treat ADHD or autism as disorders to be “fixed.” We support you in managing challenges without pathologizing your brain.
Comprehensive care, without the chaos: We’ll never leave you chasing prior authorizations, unanswered messages, or prescription delays on your own. We include those supports as part of your care—no extra fees, no fine print.
Lived experience at the center: Our prescriber is neurodivergent, too. That means we don’t just get the textbook—we get you.
Options beyond meds: Medication can help, but it’s not everything. We often combine it with therapy, coaching, or other supports to create a well-rounded plan.
Genetic Testing (Optional, Not Pushy)
Some clients benefit from pharmacogenetic testing, which uses your genetic profile to help us understand how your body may respond to certain psychiatric medications. It’s optional, and we only recommend it when it might provide helpful guidance—especially if you’ve tried multiple meds without success or have a history of side effects.
What to Expect
Your first medication visit will be a 90-minute psychiatric intake where we explore:
Your full history—mental, emotional, physical, sensory, and lived
What you’ve tried before (meds, therapy, lifestyle, self-accommodation)
What’s currently working—and what’s not
Your goals, values, and preferences around treatment
From there, we’ll collaborate on a plan. Follow-up appointments are typically 30 minutes and scheduled as needed to check in, make adjustments, and provide ongoing support.
We never rush these conversations. Your comfort and clarity come first.
Medication Support That Doesn’t Nickel-and-Dime You
We believe medication support should be supportive—not another source of stress. That’s why we never charge extra for:
Refill requests
Prior authorizations
Pharmacy communication
Secure messaging or coordination with your therapist/coach
If you’re our patient, you get our full attention—not just a prescription pad.
